MINERALS VS "TRADITIONAL" MAKEUP

FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MINERAL AND "TRADITIONAL MAKEUP"

When high quality ingredients formulated correctly are used, the natural ingredients in mineral makeup are actually good for your skin and the visual results are superior to synthetic makeup. Pure, natural mineral formulations use the natural properties of earth minerals to give coverage, protection and camouflage to the skin.  Minerals will gently adhere to the skin reflecting light and give skin a luminous appearance.

WHAT ARE THESE NATURAL MINERALS AND WHAT DO THEY DO?

Titanium Dioxide provides excellent sun protection and shade adjustment

Zinc Oxide provides UVA/UVB protection, soothes irritation and addresses inflammation

Mica provides coverage, slip and a silky texture and feel

Iron Oxides provide natural colour adjustments

By comparison, traditional makeup is primarily synthetic, contains artificially made D&C colours and other chemical and artificial ingredients such as artificial fragrances, PEG's, inexpensive petroleum based ingredients, paraben preservatives, silcones and irritants like bismuth oxychloride. These ingredients can lead to skin congestion and irritation.

WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT THE MINERALS?

Purely formulated mineral makeup allows skin to breath, acting like a second skin in additiion to offering high levels of UVA/UVB protection.  The water resistant properties of minerals allow skin to sweat, exercise and swim and remain on the skin until washed off with a gentle cloth and cleanser.

Originally developed to help camouflage surgical healing and scars, quality mineral makeup formulations contain high levels of zinc oxide which plays a major role in wound healing and reducing inflammation. Highly recommended for clients with inflammatory skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, dermatitis and following laser treatments and chemical peels.

You can ditch the chemical sunscreen products and provide reliable sun protection with quality mineral makeup with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide and their natural mineral sun protective benefits.

WILL THIS DRY AND CAKE EMPHASIZING LINES AND WRINKLES?

Good question.  And it's important to know that all mineral makeup formulations are not equal.  Many of the mega cosmetic companies have jumped on the mineral makeup bandwagon and produced inferior over the counter products full of their cheap fillers and irritants which has given mineral makeup a bit of a bad reputation, making some believe that loose mineral foundation powders are drying and enhance wrinkles!  Quality mineral makeup formulations prove this untrue - as it will actually make the skin appear more hydrated, dewy and perfected.

OK, SOUNDS GOOD, WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO APPLY MINERAL MAKEUP?

Start with clean skin.  Apply a quality natural skin moisturizer - this will ensure an even adhesion of the mineral particles to the skin. Use a high quality, densely packed mineral  makeup powder brush, load with a very small amount of powder and using tight circular motions, and beginning in the center of the face, work your way outwards toward the hairline.  Work in a series of light layers rather than one heavy layer for best results.
